Sunshine State Insurance Company (SSIC) is a privately held Florida Domestic insurance company licensed to write business in the states of Florida and South Carolina. SSIC only uses quality reinsurance carriers, approved by the Florida Department of Insurance, to reinsure our policies. All of SSIC''s reinsurers are rated between "A++" and "A-" by the A.M. Best Company.

SSIC itself was assigned and has held a Financial Stability Rating of "A" (Exceptional) since September 6, 1997 by Demotech, Inc. Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association) and Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation) accepts Demotech Financial Stability Ratings of "A" or better in regards to hazard insurance companies.

SSIC continues to expand by contracting with agents to write personal property policies throughout the states of Florida and South Carolina. They also offer a Residential Builders Risk program in Florida and South Carolina through Florida Home Builders Insurance, Inc. (FHBI).
